4 weeks pregnant: Fast facts

Your tiny baby is the size of a poppy seed.

The next six weeks are critical for your baby's development. All your baby's organs will start forming, and some will start to work!

Once you confirm you're pregnant, you can schedule your first prenatal appointment. Continue (or start) taking a daily vitamin with at least 400 mcg of folic acid. If you're taking meds or supplements, ask your provider if they're safe.

Many women will see a positive result by now on a home pregnancy test. If yours is still negative, wait a few days and try again.

For daily updates on your baby, download BabyCenter's free 5-star pregnancy app.
